diy: Gilded Lace Bookmark

Happy Monday! Here’s a quick and easy DIY to start off your week.

Supplies:

– Fabric Stiffener
– Gold Metallic Spray Paint
– Length of Lace Trim (anywhere from 8-10 inches/20-25 centimeters or more)
– Foam Brush
– Scrap Paper/Old Magazine

1) Apply a healthy amount of fabric stiffener to the lace trim. I’d recommend moving around the lace while it’s drying to ensure that it doesn’t stick to the paper.

2) Once it stiffens, head outside and add some spray paint!

You can also add some liquid gilding with a paint brush; I tried this out with the silver version (left, above). However, I found that spray paint results in a more even coating and will get in all the nooks and crannies.

Here are the bookmarks in action with a copy of Studs & Pearls and Sophia Amoruso’s awesome #GIRLBOSS. This DIY is super easy and a great way to use up any leftover lace trim!
