diy: Floral Cross Necklace

This necklace was inspired by a Tarina Tarantino piece I recently spotted on Instagram. It reminded me of these rose embellishments that are at Michael’s in the scrapbooking section. I chose red for this project – just in time for Valentine’s Day – but also made some “darker” versions in black and gray.

It’s pretty easy to make. Keep reading to see how! —

Supplies:

– Metal cross charm (I found mine on Etsy, in this shop)
– Small flat back floral embellishments, available on Etsy or in the scrapbooking section of Michael’s
 – Strong craft glue such as E6000
– Long strand of chain
– Jump rings
– Jewelry pliers

1) Because I used scrap book embellishments, there was an adhesive on the back of the roses. I took these off using pliers.

2) Determine the position of the roses on the cross, making sure that you have enough to cover the entire pendant. Glue them on and let dry.

3) Add the jump ring to the pendant, then string onto the chain.

Just a cute and simple project for a weekend afternoon (and for a fraction of the cost of the original inspiration necklace). I’m liking the gothic feel of the black and gray versions. A multi-colored floral cross would be cute, too!
